Zoom is a video conferencing software program that provides remote conferencing services that combines video conferencing, online meetings, chat, and mobile collaboration. Like many pervasive Internet products, Zoom eventually became a verb, for example "Let's Zoom this afternoon so I can see exactly what you're talking about."

Historical perspective: Zoom usage spiked in March 2020 amid the Covid-19 pandemic. With millions of people around the world working from home in order to slow the spread of the coronavirus, people turned to video conferencing for work, school, socializing, and even sports practice.
