virtual storage

Virtual storage provides a way to manage storage resources for a virtual infrastructure. The idea is that it gives companies the ability to improve data storage resource utilization and flexibility, reduce management overhead and increase application uptime, and leverage and compliment existing storage infrastructure. Many virtual storage solutions (such as VMware) use an API that provides an abstraction layer for physical storage resources to be addressed, managed and optimized in a virtualization deployment.
