source code
The form in which a computer program or Web site is written. On the Internet, for example, the source code for a Web page could contain any of the following languages: HTML, JavaScript, Java, or SGML.
These codes, in turn, may call upon scripts or documents that are written in the same code or in an entirely different code, such as Perl, C++, or CGI.
