A software program for reading and posting articles to newsgroups. Most Web browsers (such as Netscape Navigator and Internet Explorer) have the functionality built-in so that all you need to do is configure your computer to read and post news articles (the newsgroup messages). A newsreader is also contained within e-mail programs (such as Outlook Express) and there are a number of highly featured stand-alone programs available.
