You say it when someone does an embarrassing thing, for example, a person comes up to you and says, 'Hey, girl. How are you today?' and that guy is weird or he does something embarrassing like kiss a girl on the cheek as a dare, you can say 'Oh my gosh, LTF!'

Online jargon, also known as text message shorthand, used in texting, online chat, instant messaging, email, blogs, and newsgroup postings, these types of abbreviations are also referred to as chat acronyms.
