What is ghosting? It's going virtually dark after a breakup and ending a romantic relationship by cutting off all contact and ignoring the former partner’s attempts to reach out.

This practice of ending a personal relationship with someone by withdrawing from all communication usually happens suddenly and without explanation. Similar to trolls who don't hold themselves accountable online because they can hide behind their computer screens, people who "ghost" a former loved one are hiding behind their phones rather than facing this situation in the real world.
