Dynamic Link Library A file extension for a library on your hard drive that links to application programs when they are loaded. It stands for "Dynamic Link Library" and it is a Windows platform file that is an executable mini-program itself. Primarily a behind-the-screens operation, it needs to be of a version that's compatible with the executable programs (otherwise, you'll get an error message).
