bandwidth hugger

A term that describes someone who fights spam. It is a play on the words "tree hugger," which refers to a person who climbs a tree to protest its cutting down, a "bandwidth hugger" sets his or her computer to not yield any system capacity (a.k.a. bandwidth) to junk e-mail.
