6G

a.k.a. 6th generation mobile networks, sixth generation, sixth-generation wireless systems

The name for a next-generation phase of mobile telecommunications standards beyond the 5G standards, which succeeds the 4G, 3G and 2G systems.

Historical perspective: As of 2019, nobody has launched a 5G network yet, but the technologists at Finland's University of Oulu are already starting to figure out 6G.
